HISTORIC BUILDING EXPANSION AND MAINTENANCE PLANNING

Our client required a detailed model of the existing building to accurately plan for future expansion and maintenance projects.

ScanView Limited completed colour laser scan surveys using the latest laser scanning and drone technology. Survey data was supplied by Faro Focus S and Faro Freestyle2 scanners as well as DJI drones to reach higher, more prohibitive parts of the building. This reduced cost, time and the inconvenience of scaffold and / or mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs)

The captured survey data was turned into a 3-dimensional point cloud. This data was then used to produce 2D / 3D CAD drawings of the building which provided accurate as-built information of the historic house built in 1820, allowing engineering teams to take reliable 3D measurements.

The client was able to accurately plan and cost for future roofing, guttering, re-pointing and window replacement projects as well as develop a clear roadmap for future existing building / barn conversion expansion projects.
